Lena Whitmore School Goals

2009-2010 School Year


Kindergarten

• 70% of Kindergarten students will score at grade level as measured by the Spring IRI and/or the percent of students attaining proficiency in the fall of 2009 will increase by a minimum of 5% as measured by the Spring 2010 IRI.

1st Grade
• The percentage of students meeting the benchmark for words per minute, as measured by the AIMSWeb’s CBM, will increase from 50% (fall 1st grade IRI CBM results) to at least 70% or higher on the spring IRI.
• At least 85% of 1st grade students will reach the benchmark on the CORE Phonics Survey, sections A-E by spring 2010.

2nd Grade
• 80% of students in Grade 2 will score at the proficient level as measured by the spring 2010 IRI and/or the percent of students attaining proficiency in the fall will increase by a minimum of 5% as measured by the spring IRI.

3rd Grade
• 91% of students in Grade 3 will score at the proficient or advanced level in Reading as measured by the spring ISAT score.
• 88.8% of students in Grade 3 will score at the proficient or advanced level in Math as measured by the spring ISAT score.
• 83.5% of students in Grade 3 will score at the proficient or advanced level in Language Usage as measured by the spring ISAT score.
• 85 % of students in Grade 3 will score at grade level as measured by the spring IRI and/or the percent of students attaining proficiency in the fall will increase by a minimum of 5% as measured by the spring IRI.

4th Grade
• 80% of students in Grade 4 will score at the proficient level as measured by the Direct Math Assessment
• 91% of students in Grade 4 will score at the proficient or advanced level in Reading as measured by the spring ISAT scores.
• 90% of students in Grade 4 will score at the proficient or advanced level in Math as measured by the spring ISAT scores.
• 83.5% of students in Grade 4 will score at the proficient or advanced level in Language Usage as measured by the spring ISAT scores.

5th Grade
SMART Goals for Lena 5th Grade 2009-2100
Reading:
90% or more of the fifth grade students will score at or above grade level in reading on the Spring 2010 ISAT test.
Math:
90% or more of the fifth grade students will score at or above grade level in math on the Spring 2010 ISAT test.
Language:
90% or more of the fifth grade students will score at or above grade level in language on the Spring 2010 ISAT test.
Science:
75% of fifth grade students will score at or above grade level in science on the Spring 2010 ISAT test.
Direct Writing Assessment:
The percentage of students achieving a score of 3 or above on the Direct Writing Assessment as measured in Fall of 2009 will increase from 84% to 86%.


6th Grade
• 90% or more of the sixth grade students will score at or above grade level in Reading on the Spring 2010 ISAT.
• The percentage of students achieving a score of 3 or above on the Direct Math Assessment as measured in Fall of 2009 will increase from 68%-70%.
• 90% or more of the sixth grade students will score at or above grade level in math on the Spring 2010 ISAT test.
• 88% or more of the sixth grade students will score at or above grade level in language on the Spring 2010 ISAT test.
• Seventy-five percent of sixth grade science students will score 70% or better on a grade level performance-based assessment at the end of each quarter of the 2009-2010 school year.
