Our Mission:

A. B. McDonald Elementary School aims to meet the academic, personal, and social needs of all students

by creating a learning community where students are nurtured to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.

 

Our School Goals 2009-2010

 

Ø     70% of Kindergarten students will score at grade level as measured by the spring IRI and/or the percent of students attaining proficiency in the fall will increase by a minimum of 5% as measured by the spring IRI.

Ø     75% of First Grade students will score at grade level as measured by the spring IRI and/or the percent of students attaining proficiency in the fall will increase by a minimum of 5% as measured by the spring IRI.

Ø     80% of Second Grade students will score at grade level as measured by the spring IRI and/or the percent of students attaining proficiency in the fall will increase by a minimum of 5% as measured by the spring IRI.

Ø     85% of Third Grade students will score at grade level as measured by the spring IRI and/or the percent of students attaining proficiency in the fall will increase by a minimum of 5% as measured by the spring IRI.

Ø     McDonald Elementary will make Adequate Yearly Progress as measured by ISAT goals.

Ø     The number of special education students proficient or advanced in reading and math will increase by 8%.

Ø     84% of students, grades 3-6, will score at the proficient or advanced level in Language Usage as measured by spring ISAT scores.

Ø     91% of students, grades 3-6, will score at the proficient or advanced level in Reading as measured by fall to spring ISAT scores.

Ø     89% of students, grades 3-6, will score at the proficient or advanced level in Math as measured by fall to spring ISAT scores.

Ø     70% of student’s in Grade 4 will score at the proficient level as measured by the Direct Math Assessment.

Ø     70% of student’s in Grade 6 will score at the proficient level as measured by the Direct Math Assessment.

Ø     70% of students in Grade 5 will score at the proficient level as measured by the Direct Writing Assessment.
