BEGINNING ART
Course Description
The beginning art class should provide instruction leading to an understanding of the language and conceptual structure of art, the development of creative art skills, an understanding of past and present developments in art, and the development of skills and attitudes associated with aesthetic appreciation, evaluation, and discrimination.
Beginning art classes designed to satisfy the studio/performance course within the humanities requirement must significantly address all the above areas. Because of the comprehensive nature of such classes, it is recommended that they be full year offerings.
