Announcements/New Business

Laurie Austin expressed her appreciation of the PTO supporting the 6th grade Science Camp and reported that it went well and was a great experience for the students.

Last week was National Anti-Bullying & Harassment Week and an assembly was held.  In addition to this, Laurie reported that the school counselor, Kim Mikolajczyk, teaches a program called Second Step.  Kim meets every week with each class to teach the students how to deal with feelings and relationships.

Laurie also clarified the school assessments that have been released.  She explained the assessments, AYP (adequate yearly progress) and what area was not met and why.  You may contact Ms. Austin if you have any questions regarding the assessments.
