Our school was constructed in 1969 and was named after Superintendent A.B. McDonald.  Our building has 20 classrooms, a full size gymnasium, beautiful library, music room, updated computer lab, and special education pods.  We are very proud of our beautiful facility and the surrounding playground.
M
cDonald School has approximately 450 students in grades K-6 and a developmental preschool.  Our class sizes range from 19 to 26 students.  The K+ enrichment program serving 22 children, is offered each afternoon for kindergarten students.  McDonald's teachers and staff are all certified in their fields, many of them holding advanced degrees.
We boast a state-recognized physical education/movement program, have a full time music teacher, a full time library assistant and a technology teacher.  McDonald School is very proud of the service it provides for students with special needs, as well as those who qualify for gifted and talented programs.  We have a counselor and a school psychologist who are always available for children and families.
Our school follows all curriculum guidelines as mandated by the state of Idaho.  In addition to the required curriculum, we participate in DARE education and have implemented an outstanding anti-violence curriculum entitled Second Step.
M
cDonald School has a breakfast and lunch program available to all students.  Adventure Club is available to children who need care after school.  McDonald students are bused with others in our district to after school band and orchestra programs.
We are all very proud of the well rounded educational program we provide!  Parental involvement is encouraged and greatly contributes to our success.  Our Parent Teacher Organization meets monthly and welcomes new members.  McDonald families agree that our school is a wonderful place to be!
