Your students will be tested throughout the year to determine their reading level.  
It is recommended that they read books that are close to their level. 
Often, children choose books that are too difficult for them to read independently. 
A good rule of thumb is to have your child read one page to you. 

If they read it without 5-6 errors on one page,
the book would be great for them to read. 
If more than 5-6 errors occur, please help your child choose a
different book that they are able to read a a bit more ease.
