Professional Development Committee

Purpose: The District Professional Development Committee will coordinate and plan activities which support staff and focus on the District's Strategic Plan. It will recommend distribution of district professional development funds and review teacher requests for in-service credit.

Meetings: The Professional Development Committee will meet a minimum of four times during the school year in the District Office Board Room.

Membership: This committee consists of an elementary and secondary principal and teachers, ensuring that all buildings are represented. Additional members include a Moscow Education Association (MEA) appointed representative, and the Curriculum Director. Membership reflects the guidelines of Federal and State programs, as well as the MEA Negotiated Agreement. The Curriculum Director chairs the Committee.

Reports To: The Professional Development Committee reports to the District Curriculum and Assessment Committee, the Administrative Council, and the Superintendent. The final decision to deny or grant approval for research and development credit rests with the Moscow School District Board of Trustees.
