Welcoming New Leaders

Welcoming New Leaders at West Park, Paradise Creek, and Moscow Middle School

Please join us in welcoming two new leaders to the Moscow School District. West Park Elementary and Paradise Creek Regional High School will be welcoming a new principal, Mr. Brian Smith, replacing former principal Mr. Bill Marineau. Moscow Middle School is welcoming a new assistant principal, Mrs. Teri Summers, replacing former assistant principal Mr. Doug Henderson.

Mr. Smith is a proud University of Idaho alum. He is returning to the Palouse from Gallatin, Tennessee where he served as an educator and administrator in Sumner County Schools for seven years. Mr. Smith has been working in education for 16 years in different capacities, as a district middle school instructional coordinator, a principal designee, a dean of culture, and has chaired, and co-chaired various committees focused on student/parent advocacy, community outreach, school leadership, and community/school enrichment. He was also selected as a mentor for the Governor’s Academy for School Leadership. Mr. Smith says that he is excited to both work and raise his family within the student-centered Moscow School District.

Mrs. Summers is also a proud University of Idaho alum and she has been a teacher in our district for 16 years. Mrs. Summers has served on numerous committees including the District Leadership Team, which drafted the district SMART goals, and on the Mastery Based Learning Team, which assisted district administration in the implementation of Mastery-Based Learning. She has been a building leader, a district first grade team leader, and an interim director of Oasis Early Learning Center Preschool. Mrs. Summers is excited to work with the educators at the middle school. She is also looking forward to learning and working with Principal Bill Holman. Although it is daunting to take on this role, she is excited to make the move.

Mr. Smith and Mrs. Summers’ proven record of accomplishment in education and leadership is in accordance with the qualities we search for in our administrators. Welcome to the Moscow School District and most importantly welcome to the team!
