His passion for education and dedication to students have left a lasting impact on generations of learners.
But it’s not just the classroom where Mr. Hoogsteen shines. For over two decades, he has brought energy and excitement to school sporting events as the announcer for Bear athletics. Whether it’s football, volleyball, basketball, or softball, his booming voice and signature enthusiasm have become a cherished part of the game-day experience. “I want to make the games fun for the kids,” he shared. “It’s about school spirit, community, and creating memories.”
Originally from Los Angeles, Mr. Hogin and his wife made Moscow their home after he completed his studies at Washington State University. Since then, he has become a fixture in the community, known for his humor, heart, and unwavering support for students. “There’s so much positive here for kids if they just look around and get involved,” he said.
Mr. Hoogsteen plans to continue announcing football games—ensuring that his voice will echo through Bear Stadium for years to come. We thank Mr. Hoogsteen for his incredible service and for being a true embodiment of Bear pride.
