MSD Student Meals/ Nutrition

Welcome to the Moscow School District
School Nutrition Website!

Our goal is to provide healthy, delicious meals for students and staff of Moscow schools.
This page provides general information on our meal program.

During the school year, we participate in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and After School Snack program. During the summer we participate in the Summer Food Service Program. Schools participating in these programs follow nutrition and meal service requirements determined by the United States Department of Agriculture ( USDA), and the Child Nutrition Program of the Idaho State Department of Education.

What to expect from student meals? Student Nutrition staff work hard to make delicious meals meeting nutrition guidelines set forth by the USDA.  Menus are a mixture of scratch baked and prepared entrees with kid favorites similar to those found at popular restaurants.
Each week we serve whole grain rich breads, cereals, grains; fruits; vegetables ( 5 different types every week!), high protein entree choices, milk choices, and fun foods like cookies, chips, and ice cream. Find out more details on the foods and nutrition guidelines for school meals on our Nutrition Education page.
