It is the policy of the Board of Trustees to accept foreign students in the following categories:
- Foreign exchange students from local (within a radius of 50 miles) recognized non-profit exchange programs. These programs must be approved by October 1 of the year prior to placement. Exchange students will be given junior year status. All students must obtain either a J-1 or F-1 visa.
- Local, non-profit exchange programs shall be awarded no more than three total student positions per year. The exchange program will complete the application to the high school for selected students. The Board of Trustees authorizes the school principal to approve or reject foreign exchange student applications for whatever reason deemed appropriate by the Board, so long as the reason for the rejection is not based on the applicant's race, creed, color, sex, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or socioeconomic status. The foreign exchange student's English language skills are the responsibility of the sponsoring exchange agency and the sponsoring agency must submit proof of the student's English proficiency.
- Application for first semester placement must be made by June 1, and for second semester placement by November 15. The sponsoring exchange program will be notified of acceptance by the principal. (3-29-16)
