The District's library program is fully integrated into the curriculum and is viewed as an essential component of student achievement. The primary goal of the libraries is to ensure that the students and staff become effective users of ideas and information.
The District's teacher librarians play a critical role in each school's instructional program by:
- Providing leadership, expertise, and advocacy in the use of technology and resources.
- Empowering students to accept responsibility for their own learning.
- Guiding students' development as self-directed learners in locating, analyzing, evaluating, interpreting, and communicating ideas and information.
- Working with the classroom teacher as a teacher to plan, design, deliver, and evaluate instruction.
Each of the Moscow School Library Media Centers is an integral component of the total district library program and is not an entity in and of itself. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) programs and partnerships with public, school, and academic libraries augment the district collections and are encouraged
