Paying for Meals

The goal of Moscow School District Student Nutrition is to provide students with healthy, enjoyable meals and  positive eating experiences at school.

Please remember to pay for meals, as you would anywhere else you purchase food.  Unpaid meal charges place a large financial burden on the Moscow School District. Per the Idaho State Department of Education Child Nutrition Program’s guidance document Point of Service and Meal Counting  noncollectable meal balances are considered bad debt, therefore unallowable to be covered by Child Nutrition funds. As a result, the school district’s general fund must cover the expense of unpaid meals accrued over the school year.

Expectations: Students and adults are expected to pay cash, check, or via the Moscow School District’s online payment system ( no fees!) for all food purchases.

All families that might qualify are encouraged to complete the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application. Find out how to apply on the Free + Reduced Priced Meals page.
You can apply or reapply at any time during the school year if you financial situation changes.

If you are having difficulty paying for meals in advance or need to set up a payment plan please contact the Student Nutrition Office at 208-892-1123 or Toll-Free at 1-888-545-0385.
